For my final day of shadowing experience, I shadowed Mrs. Shea, and OBGYN nurse. During this experience, I got to see both a C-Section as well as a Vaginal Birth. Both of these experiences were very cool to watch. During the C-Section, I got to be in the OR and watch the whole procedure take place. I observed with everyone did in the room, and payed very close attention to the nurses. Once thing that stood out to me was how sterile everything had to be in the room, including bright lights for the surgery that had plastic sterile covers over them, and a completely sterile table. After observing the C-section, I knew that me going into nursing was the right decision. The way the nurses interacted with the patient, the baby when it was born just wanted to make me already be a nurse. After the C-Section, Mrs. Shea took me on a tour of Post Partum and the NICU. After taking more and more steps around the hospital, I knew that I loved the environment. Walking around the NICU, we ran into a couple of nurses, and one of them showed us into a room. The room was empty, but she showed me the smallest blood pressure cuff and smallest dipper they had. The dipper was not even as big as my pinky finger. It was sad to say the least, but also very eye opening. After the tour, we went back to the OB part of the hospital. A nurse I was standing beside mentioned how her patient was about to have her baby, and just as she said that, she got paged. We went into the room and within seconds, there were 6 nurses there lending helping hands. It was truly amazing to see a baby born
